Project Yoga Teacher Spotlight: Pam Rogers

Pam Rogers has been with Project Yoga since October teaching at Corryville Catholic and William Howard Taft Elementary. We asked her to share a little about herself, her yoga practice, and why she supports the mission of bringing mindfulness and yoga into the community.

How does yoga impact your life?

Yoga will be my go-to exercise as I age. The breathing and stretches will help me to be strong and vibrant.

Who do you admire most in your life?

The person I admire most in my life is Jesus. His teachings and relationship with Him is what I strive for daily and on a deeper level.

What is your superpower?

My superpower is patience and caring.

Is there a yoga teacher or yogi that inspires you?

Stacy Jenkins Shirley of NamaStacy. She infuses humor into yoga. She makes it so much fun!

What is your preferred yoga style?

Right now, I don’t have a preferred style. I’m open to checking out all the styles. I love Hatha and Hot yoga.

Why do you support Project Yoga?

I support Project Yoga because yoga is part of my lifestyle and the focus of bringing yoga to kids of color is so necessary. The sooner we can teach kids other ways to cope in all situations. the better for them and our society.

Why are yoga and mindfulness in our community important to you?

Yoga and mindfulness are important to me because they promote understanding and slowing down in any situation. Our society is so fast-paced now. We can benefit from taking a few minutes to consider others as we move through difficulties.
