What We Offer

We bring trauma-informed yoga to schools, shelters, social service agencies, and nonprofits. Each program is customized to the population we serve and delivered with compassion and respect.

Project Yoga teachers know the intelligence behind moving and breath work. Our teaching style is straightforward and jargon-free.

We are pleased to be part of Cincinnati's movement towards 'whole person' approaches to mental health, wellness, physical strength, and resiliency.

“I used to get in trouble for talking too much…

Now I use my breath to calm down.”

— 4th Grade Student

Resources

Connecting to self, others, and community serves the world well. We are building more resources to share with you and the communities we serve.

We hope you will find value in the practices collected here.

Mindfulness Meditation

“Research shows that mindfulness meditation helps reduce both acute and chronic pain and that its pain-relieving benefits extend to reducing fear of pain, pain avoidance, and pain catastrophizing when someone is anticipating or experiencing pain.”

— National Center for Complementary and Integrated Health

Alternate Nostril Breath

An excellent all-around practice. Breath to balance calms nerves if elevated but it can also lift you if you are feeling depleted. A grounding breath to help bring you back into balance.

Walking Meditation

Bringing mindful awareness to a walk as a compliment to yoga and seated meditation practice. There is tremendous value in using the techniques regardless of type of walk.

Three Part Yoga Breath

Watch Project Yoga champion Gina Fennell lead a 1 minute 3-part yogic breath. Take a moment throughout your day to incorporate this simple act to relieve stress and re-center.

“What an amazing project to support our students, staff, and families! I lead staff and families through the steps, sometimes with a layer of humor :), when we are about to engage or recover from a difficult conversation or situation. I am grateful that Kaitlin found Project Yoga. It is definitely embedded into our school culture. ”

— Terrez Thomas, Former Principal of Carson Elementary in Cincinnati
